By faith, in 1964, Bro. Coy Ethridge moved his family to St. Louis, Missouri, to begin the Crusade Baptist Temple. This was not the first move that he had made. Several years earlier, he had moved his family to go to Bible college to train to become a pastor. Pastor Ethridge served his Lord faithfully for over twenty-eight years as the pastor of CBT. During those years, God used Pastor Ethridge to move the church from its Broadway location to the present location on Union Road. Also, God used him to establish the Crusade Baptist Christian School, a school used to teach and train children in a Christian environment. After he went home to be with the Lord, Bro. Randy Casey took the position of pastor. This was only to be a temporary position, but he served faithfully for ten years. After being diagnosed with cancer, Pastor Casey was forced to resign. In 2004, God led Bro. Steve and Nichole Taylor to St. Louis. Pastor Taylor ministered here until July of 2008, when God led him to a new place of service. After several months of filling the pulpit, the church voted to call Bro. Gary Bookout as its fourth pastor, in October of 2008. He, and his wife, Carol, came to CBT after twenty-eight years serving the Lord in the pastorate and Christian school ministry.
